CURRIE — Mr. James “Frankie” Godwin, 67, died at his home Tuesday, May 14, 2019. He was born Sept. 6, 1951, to Gordon Franklin Godwin and Susie Godwin Wells.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Janice Tompkins Godwin; son and daughter; five grandchildren; four brothers; three sisters and two brothers by choice, Dennis Jones and Jimmy Yopp.
A special thank you to our son, Jeremy Godwin, who stayed and helped keep his father at home. We could not have done it without you.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, May 18, at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral and Cremation Service. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service and at their home afterwards. Military honors will be presented.
