LELAND — James Bryant “Jim” Simpson, 60, passed away Saturday, April 27, 2019, at his home.
James was born Jan. 3, 1959, in Alamance County, North Carolina, to Freeman Simpson and Jody Loveday Bailey.
He attended Maury High School in Dandridge, Tennessee, where he was raised. He moved to Leland, where he owned and operated Tidal Taxi Company until his death.
He is survived by his mother, Jody Bailey; brothers, Keith Simpson (Myra) and Mark Simpson; nephews, Chris Simpson (Brianne) and Ryan Simpson; as well as three great-nephews.
A visitation will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow visitation at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Otha Loveday Jr. officiating.
