
WILMINGTON — William Franklin “Bill” Britt, 74, passed away Thursday, Jan. 24, 2019, peacefully at his home. He was born Dec. 17, 1944, in Chadbourn to the late Lonnie and Letha Britt.
Retired, Bill was the former owner of Britt’s Painting. He was an avid coin collector and enjoyed sharing his love for coins with his children and grandchildren. He loved going fishing, camping and taking vacations with his family. In his later years, Bill’s favorite pastime was enjoying news channels with a good cup of coffee, along with his beloved dog, Tiny, in his lap.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Kay (Brooks) Britt, and his parents.
He is survived by his four daughters, Paula Gonzalez, Tamela Aguire and Teena Horne, all of Wilmington, and Billie McDaniels (Jesse) of Ardmore, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; sister, Shirley Long; and two brothers, Ronald and Johnny Britt.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
