Loren Scott Cook, 73, Army veteran who served his country with honor

WILMINGTON — Loren Scott Cook, 73, of The Forks at Barclay, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019.

Loren was born in Washington, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Joseph George and Naomi Bell McPeak Cook. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Army.

Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Paula Kljun Cook; son, Joseph Andrew Cook, and his wife, Hilary, of Chapel Hill; daughter, Whitney Cook Romadka, and her husband, Thomas, of Wilmington; sister, Lois C. Fain, and her husband, Clark, of Georgia; and two granddaughters, Margaret Cook and Eleanor Romadka.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 17, at Sosebee Funeral Home in Canton, Georgia, with burial in Georgia National Cemetery, with military honors. The family will see friends from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
