
LELAND — Linda Kay Vezina, 74, passed away Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019, at SECU Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Bolivia.
She was born Sept. 8, 1944, in Wilmington to Andrew Hamilton Perry and Ella Nelson Perry. Linda is survived by her husband, Burton William Vezina Sr.; son, Burton W. Vezina II, and his wife, Debra; daughter, Donna Vezina Moscato; two grandchildren, Damien JaRose and Perry Lewis, and his wife, Holly; three great-grandchildren, Lily JaRose, Mila and Bennett Lewis.
She was preceded in death by her mom and dad; and brothers, Alton Perry, John Perry and Capt. Phil Perry, detective with the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Department.
Linda retired as co-owner and corp. secretary of the family business, North Brunswick Electrical Contractors Inc. She was a member of the Cape Fear Shag Club as well as an avid hunter at the Shiloh Road Hunting Club in Council, from 2003 to 2004 Linda was the tree decorating chairperson for the LCF Hospice Festival of Trees at the Wilmington Hilton. Since her early teens, Linda had been a member of First Baptist Church of Leland. She loved God and left a legacy of faith to all who knew her.
The family will see friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S. 41st St., Wilmington. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 9, at First Baptist Church of Leland officiated by Pastor Chris Hall. Burial will be held in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be relatives, Andrew Perry, Phillip “Chip” Perry Jr., Daniel Perry, Gaston Perry, Carson Lewis, Ed Lewis Jr., Perry Lewis and Damien JaRose. Honorary pallbearers are Van Lewis, Ed Lewis, Glenn Gainey and Dr. Frances of Pecoraro, Maryland.
