WILMINGTON — Ella Louise Meshaw Horne, 75, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born in Wallace, the daughter of the late Howard Meshaw and Gola Mae Brown Meshaw.
Louise was a lifetime employee as a forklift operator with American Standard at 602 Sunnyvale Drive, Wilmington. Her hobbies were cooking, cards and games, watching TV especially basketball, puzzles, and she loved children and animals.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Louis Horne Sr.; a daughter, Baby Girl Horne; and brother, Earl Meshaw.
She is survived by her two children, Melvin Louis Horne Jr. of Wilmington and Sylvia Lynn Horne Millis of Durham; three grandchildren, Samuel L. Horne (Paige Moore), Courtney Lynne Sykes (Tyler) and Micah James Millis (Ethan Durham); two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Horne and Nolan James Sykes; two brothers, Howard Paul Meshaw (Pearl) and Vernon Meshaw (Carol); and many nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 30, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington.
