CAROLINA BEACH — Wendy Marie Hood, 40, of Carolina Beach, went to be with her Lord and Savior Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018. She was born March 20, 1978, in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Wendy attended Avondale High School and Oakland Community College. She was a broker for RE/MAX Essential and assistant to the president at Robin Hood Container Inc. She attended First Baptist Church of Carolina Beach.

Wendy was an active member in her community who spent endless hours volunteering and making a difference in every life she touched. Family, friends and the outdoors were Wendy’s passion and delight. She enjoyed fishing, traveling, hunting, exercising, cooking, entertaining others and decorating.

We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from Wendy during her 40 years, among them were: to give of one’s self and leave the world a better place. Wendy was full of life, passionate and truly had a servant’s heart. She could and would talk to anyone, and when you were in her company, you wanted to stay.

She will always be remembered for her courage during difficult times. She laughed often and loved much. Wendy was adored as a daughter, sister, wife, niece, cousin and friend. She loved her family and the world. But more than anything else, she loved her husband, Robbie and loyal companion, Hershey.

She was reunited with her mother, Sharon Elizabeth Shorter-Bridges. She is survived by her husband, Robin Whitley Hood II, and her loyal companion, Hershey, of Carolina Beach; dad, Joseph Stephen Bridges of Wilmington; brother, Matthew Stephen Shorter-Bridges of Wilmington; sister-in-law and husband, Brian and Rene’ Honeycutt of Benson; and five nephews and two nieces.

A funeral service in memory of Wendy will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 22, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road, Wilmington. Pastor Hal Hiatt will be officiating. The family will receive visitors one hour prior to services. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 23, in Roselawn Cemetery, Benson, with Pastor Charles Royal officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 27840.

Share online condolences with the family at Andrews Mortuary & Crematory.
