WINNABOW — Benjamin “Bryant” Huffman, 97, went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, Nov. 29, 2018. Bryant was the son of the late Benjamin Bryant Hufham and Nellie Lee Pershake Holden.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Wilma Hewett Huffman; daughter, Joanne Huffman Milliken; grandson, Fredrick Lee Lewis; great-grandsons, Jesse D. Mason and Charles Philip Fowler; great-granddaughters, Samantha Lee James and Angel; two brothers, Robert E. Hufham and George Kenneth Hufham; son-in-law, Lamar Ellis; and daughter-in-law, Mary Robbins Huffman.

Left to mourn his passing are his loving wife of seven years, Dolores Myers-Huffman of the home; two sons, Benjamin Bryant Huffman Jr. of Winnabow and Gary Huffman, and his wife, Faye, of Bolivia; four daughters, Ruby Jean Huffman Thomas, and her husband, Bill, of Winnabow, Joyce Lee Huffman Ellis of Bolton, Dorothy Huffman Fowler, and her husband, Philip, of Wilmington and Alice Carter of Southport; son-in-law, Mike Carter of Atkins, South Carolina; and 19 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, at Red Hill Pentecostal Church, Delco. Prior to the memorial service, the family will be receiving friends at the home of his daughter, Dorothy Fowler, Wilmington.

In lieu of flowers, Bryant has requested that contributions be made to your favorite children’s charity.
