ST. JAMES — Keith Walter Johnson, 73, passed away Friday, Nov. 16, 2018. Mr. Johnson was born Dec. 6, 1944, in Chicago, Illinois, to the late Walter and Viola Johnson. Keith was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be remembered as a quiet and gentle man who loved his Swedish traditions.
He had been a math teacher for several years until he left teaching to go into the information technology field. Keith coached his son’s sports teams, loved golf and was an avid reader. After his retirement to St. James in 2006, Keith joined the Brunswick Newcomers Club in Southport. He was very active in the club, having served on several committees and organizing several road rallies.
Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Johnson.
Left to cherish his memory are the love of his life, his wife of 51 years, Barbara Johnson; son, David Johnson; and three grandchildren, Marin Johnson, Kole Johnson and Kaylin Johnson.
A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Nov. 30, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
