Arthur F. Gosewisch, 91, served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II

WILMINGTON — Arthur F. Gosewisch, 91, died Friday, Nov. 2, 2018.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Helene; and son, Steven.

He is survived by his wife, Rae; and daughters, Carol Gosewisch Strayer (Andy) of Nashville, Tennessee, and Barbara Gosewisch of Lake Hopatcong, New Jersey; stepchildren, Chip Hughes (Kathleen) of Bountiful, Utah, Kathleen Hughes Potter (Gus) of Georgetown, Delaware, Bill Hughes (Kathy) of Issaquah, Washington, and Jennifer Hughes Lopez (John) of Simpsonville, South Carolina; and 18 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Arthur served in the U.S. Army Medical Corps during World War II. He retired from the insurance industry in New Jersey, and he and his wife Rae retired to North Carolina 31 years ago.

A funeral service will be held at noon, Wednesday, Nov. 7, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hampstead. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon prior to services at the church. Interment will follow in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Cemetery, Highway 210, Hampstead.
