LELAND — William K. “Kenneth” Deese, 76, passed away Monday, Oct. 8, 2018, at his home.

He was born April 29, 1942, in Monroe, the son of Foster Deese and Bleeka Klontz Deese.

Kenneth worked for many years as a machinist in the tool manufacturing industry. He served his country with honor and distinction as a specialist 4th class in the U.S. Army.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Linda; aunts, Betty Watkins and Eva Simms; and niece and nephew.

He was preceded in death by his father, Foster Deese; stepfather, “Daddy Red” Lowery; mother, Bleeka “Mrs. Blackie” Lowery; and sister, Shelba Walker.

Kenneth enjoyed being home with his wife and spending time with his horses and other animals.

The family will receive friends at a visitation to be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the First Baptist Church of Leland, 517 Village Road, Leland. A funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Dr. Steve Ellis officiating. Burial will be held in the churchyard cemetery. In recognition of Kenneth’s honorable and faithful service to his country, the U.S. Army will render military honors.
