LELAND — Jane Ann Steigerwald, 61, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at the SECU Hospice House, Bolivia.
She was born Jan. 21, 1957, in New York, New York, the daughter of John Hallaran and Ellen Kavanagh Hallaran.
Jane had received a master’s degree and worked for many years as a dietician in various school districts on Long Island, New York.
Jane is survived by her husband, James Steigerwald; children, Barbara Lee Steigerwald, James, and his wife, Emilie Steigerwald, Roy Steigerwald and Tara, and her husband, Ethan Johnson; and grandchildren, Georgia, James and Jack Steigerwald. She is also survived by her siblings, John Hallaran, Mary Molloy, Robert Hallaran and Thomas Hallaran.
Jane loved the beach and being out in the sunshine. She was a wonderful, kind and caring person who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
A memorial Mass will be held at 9 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Basilica Shrine of Saint Mary, 412 Ann St., Wilmington, NC 28401.
