Faye Wooten, 84, member of Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church

WILMINGTON — Faye Wooten, 84, went to her heavenly home Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018.

She was born in Columbus County to the late Clarence and Walla Wilkins. They moved to the Wilmington area, where Faye was raised and lived the rest of her life. She was a member of Union Grove Freewill Baptist Church and was a faithful and steadfast Christian who would always pray for others before herself. She enjoyed cooking and gardening. Family was the most important thing in her life.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, James N. Wooten Sr.

Left to remember her are son, James N. Wooten Jr., and his wife, Katherine, of Boiling Springs Lakes; brothers, Bill Wilkins, and his wife, Bonnie, of Florence, South Carolina, and Sam Wilkins of Columbia, South Carolina; sisters, Marge Miles, and her husband, Wilber, of Florence, South Carolina, and Jera Meshaw of Wilmington; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice; 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
