WILMINGTON — Teri Jenkins Cartrette, 66, passed away at home Friday, Aug. 31, 2018. Teri was born April 17, 1952, in Asheville, to Morris and Wanda Jenkins, and was the youngest of two daughters.

Although her love of the North Carolina mountains was deep, she made her way down to Wilmington, where she eventually met the love of her life, Ronald Glenn Cartrette. They were married on Nov. 26, 1988. With their marriage, Teri gained not only a soulmate, but two stepchildren, Andrea (Chris) Rhodes and William “Jimmy” Cartrette, who she loved as her own. Teri was a devoted grandmother, and loved to dote on her two grandchildren, Briley and Charlotte Rhodes, as well as her two granddogs, Dexter and Lazarus.

Teri spent her life caring deeply for others, including her family, her friends, and her fur babies, Jack and Coco. Teri was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; parents; and sister, Kaye.

She is survived by her stepchildren, grandchildren, several in-laws, extended family in western North Carolina, and many friends.
