WILMINGTON — James B. “Bland” Gillikin, 52, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2018, after a short, courageous battle with colon cancer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Wanda Gillikin of Wilmington.
Bland is survived by his wife, Saralyn Corbett Gillikin, and daughter, Leah Elizabeth Gillikin, of the home; sister, Laura Gillikin Poe, and her husband, Cary, of Cornelius; and brother, John Bradley Gillikin of Wilmington. Bland also leaves behind two loved nieces, Abby Lee Poe and Caroline Louise Poe of Cornelius.
A visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 8, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel 4108 South College Road.
Flowers are welcome, but donations in Bland’s name may be made to our local chapter fighting colon cancer, “The Blue Ribbon Run” c/o Susan Adams, 692 Rivage Promenade, Wilmington NC 28412.
