ROCKY POINT — Paula Renee Hand Rodriguez, 38, passed all too soon from her earthly life Thursday, July 19, 2018, at her home.
She was born April 27, 1980, in Wilmington, the daughter of Imogene Sinclair Owens and the late Lance Hand. Paula was preceded in death by her sister, Constance Hand.
In addition to her mother, Paula is survived by her sons, Jacoby McKeithan, Michael Lance Hand Hewlett and Johan Rodriguez; brothers, Dale Hand (Tina), Edwin West (Elizabeth), Ricky West (Kim) and Dennis West (Lucy); stepfather, William “Bill” Owens; and many extended family and friends who all loved Paula and will miss her dearly.
Paula was a graduate of Carteret Community College in Morehead City. She was a loving, giving person who dearly loved her children. She loved the Christmas season, parties and celebrating all family and friends’ events — birthdays, weddings and fun get togethers. She was always there with camera in hand willing to lend a helping hand. Her radiant smile and warm personality will be missed.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, at Quinn-McGowen Funeral Home, Burgaw. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, July 26, at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Wilmington, with the Rev. Merrell McKoy conducting services.
