Stephen Paul ‘Steve’ Bintinger, 52, went to eternal peace Saturday, July 14, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. Steve was born March 22, 1966, to Georgianna (Meyers) and Stephen Bintinger Sr. in LaGrange Illinois. He grew up in Oak Brook, Illinois, and attended Indiana University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Science in Education. He also received a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from California State University, San Marcos.
Steve moved to the Wilmington area four years ago, where he became a member and usher at St. Therese Catholic Church. He was a Cubs’ fan, an avid runner and loved playing both golf and tennis. He will be remembered as a wonderful son and loving brother.
He was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Bintinger Sr. Left to remember him are his mother, Georgianna Bintinger; sisters, Judy Pohlen (Larry), Carol Kaiser (Matt) and Susie Wehner (Joe); nephews, Mike, Rob, Andy, Joey and Johnny; and nieces, Katie, Meggie, Shelly and Catherine.
Visitation will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 20, immediately followed by a funeral Mass at noon at St. Therese Catholic Church, 209 S. Lumina Ave., Wrightsville Beach. A private burial will be held at the Valhalla Memory Gardens, Bloomington, Indiana.
