WILMINGTON — Joseph “Gus” Valade, 60, passed away peacefully in his sleep Sunday, July 8, 2018, surrounded by family at the beautiful Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center.
Gus was born July 14, 1957, in Troy, New York. He was the twelfth child of Joseph Adrienne and Virginia Lee Valade.
Gus was a skilled craftsman who spent 40 years building custom homes and furnishings in Wilmington and the surrounding areas. He will be remembered fondly for his artistry, his cooking and his love for his family.
He leaves behind two daughters, Savannah Lee and Caroline Frances Valade; six brothers and six sisters; and several loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11:15 a.m., Wednesday, July 11, at Sea Lawn Memorial Park, Hampstead.
