CAROLINA BEACH — Howard Earl “Rooster” Brookshire Jr. passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018. He was born Nov. 25, 1937, in Boone to Howard E. Brookshire Sr. and Gladys Cook Brookshire. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Rooster is survived by his wife, Sherry Farnsworth Brookshire; daughter, Elaine Wessel of Asheville; son, Howard E. “Pat” Brookshire III, and his wife, Regina, of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Judy Parsons of Morganton; stepdaughter and caregiver, Leanne Womack of Carolina Beach; stepson, Brian Womack, and his wife, Tammy, of Vale; and grandchildren, William, Charles and Sarah Brookshire of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Austin Womack of Waco.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Saturday, July 7, at their residence. A private burial will follow.
