WILMINGTON — Eujay Thibodeaux, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Eujay was born Jan. 7, 1931, in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, son of the late Avenout Thibodeaux and Marie Natelia Matt Thibodeaux; two brothers, Addley and Dallas Thibodeaux; and sister, Agnes Roy, preceded him in death.
He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, retiring after 20 years of service. He was a member of the Supper Optimist Club, Elks Club and VFW-DAV. He coached Little League Baseball for many years. Eujay loved golf and was always willing to give advice to his beloved grandchildren.
He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Williams Thibodeaux; two children, Janice Millis (Billy) of Wallace and John Thibodeaux of Greenville; four stepsons, Terry, Gregory (Tracy) and Chris and Michael Martin (Jennifer); grandchildren, Robert Caldwell (Amber) of New Mexico, Edward Thibodeaux of Leland, Richard Martin, Phillip Martin, Travis Martin (Tara), Stuart Martin (Jenn), Tara Martin and Michael Martin Jr. (Christin), all of Wilmington, and Kayla Martin of Craigsville, Virginia; great-grandchildren, Aries Thibodeaux, Chloe, Phoebe, Kai, Ellen, Brooks, Camden and Easton Martin, Emmarie Hall and Cailey Coniglio; nieces, Rose Roy and Yvonne Brown, and nephew, Michael Thibodeaux, all of Jennings, Louisiana; and nieces, Ramona Thibodeaux and Agnes Roy of Lake Arthur, Louisiana.
A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 2, at the Basilica Shrine of St. Mary with the Rev. Bob Kus officiating. Interment will follow in Oleander Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Eujay’s memory may be made to Lower Cape Fear Hospice, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
