Carol Saulsbury Moore, 94, longtime member of the Sea Notes Choral Society

WILMINGTON — Carol Saulsbury Moore, 94, passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018. Mrs. Moore was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Greensboro, Maryland, to the late James and Ann Saulsbury.

She was an active member of St. Philips Episcopal Church in Southport for 36 years. Mrs. Moore was a longtime member of the Sea Notes Choral Society and volunteered with Lower Cape Fear Hospice.

Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, James Draden Moore; son, James Draden Moore Jr.; and two brothers, James and Irwin Saulsbury.

Left to cherish her memory are her three daughters, Ann Moore Bonnenfant, and her husband, Patrick, of France, Elizabeth “Libbie” Moore Schaffer, and her husband, Todd, of Wilmington and Martha Moore Bumgarner of Morganton; brother, Edward Saulsbury of Pinehurst; sister-in-law, Nancy Saulsbury; and 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life service will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 17, at St. Philips Episcopal Church. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall.
