WILMINGTON — Gregory George “Greg” Gnadt, 69, died Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at his home. Greg was born Dec. 23, 1948, in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the son of the late George Albert Gnadt and Loretta Fiala Gnadt.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sophia Kosarzycki Gnadt. At the time of her death, they had just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. Greg never went on to remarry, as he never fully got over the death of his beloved wife, Sophie.
He is survived by his two children, daughter, Tina Gnadt Holland, and her husband, Chris, of Hampstead; son, Thomas Gregory Gnadt, and his wife, Lisa, of Wilmington; five grandsons, Alex, Bryan and Jacob Holland and Riley and Camron Gnadt; brother, Quentin Gnadt, and his wife, RoseAnn, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; and sister, Renee Ladwig, and her husband, Don, of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Greg served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement, where he worked as a plumbing specialist for many years. He was a jack of all trades and a terrific handyman. He was always willing to help anyone in any way he could. He enjoyed traveling home to Wisconsin to visit family and friends as often as he could.
The family will receive friends at 2 p.m., Friday, May 11, at Andrews Mortuary Chapel, Market Street. A memorial service will follow at 3 p.m.
