
HAMPSTEAD — Debra Faye “Debbie” Anderson Croom, 62, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018, at her home.
Debbie was preceded in death by her late father, Bruce Hooks Anderson of Hampstead; and her biological mother, Hilda Hailey, Richmond, Va.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Robert W. “Bob” Croom of Hampstead, N.C.; and loving mother, Joyce Faye Paschall Anderson of Hampstead, who had been by Debbie’s side day and night for the past two months as Debbie battled multiple health problems. Debbie leaves behind two loving children, Michael Brandon Croom, and his wife, Courtney Jackson Croom, of Wilmington, N.C., and Melody Brooke Croom Hudson, and her husband, Richard Hudson, of Hampstead, N.C.; and four grandchildren, Brookelynn Farah Hudson, Ezekiel Hooks Croom, Bryler Faith Hudson and Penelope Kenlynn Croom. May god keep a watchful eye on all of these children. Debbie has many brothers and sisters, Donnie Anderson (Beth) of Miami, Fla., Chuck Comer (Kathy) of Richmond, Va., Robin Comer Robinson (John) of Maryville, Tenn., Dawn Anderson (Bill) of Hampstead, N.C., and Wendy Perdue (Billy) of Hampstead, N.C. Debbie showed nieces and nephews, Alicia Perdue, Trey Elliott and Allie Perdue, all of Hampstead, tremendous love.
Debbie was a faithful member of Blake’s Chapel Advent Christian Church. She held many positions there over the years, but her passion was the children and youth of the church. Debbie was a loyal employee of Canady & Son Exterminating for more than 36 years. She left a lasting impression on all of her coworkers. Debbie will be missed greatly by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 13, at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, at Blake’s Chapel Advent Christian Church, Sloop Point Road, Hampstead.
