WILMINGTON — Alice Marie Conlon Choma was born Dec. 18, 1956, in Brooklyn, N.Y., but lived and died Jan. 25, 2018, in Wilmington, N.C. She battled breast cancer in every way, both traditionally and alternatively, until her last day. Her loving family held her hand as she left this sweet earth.

It broke Alice’s heart to leave behind her cherished daughters, Katie Choma of Wilmington, N.C., and Maddie Choma of NYC; sister, Ann Conlon-Smith (Shepherd Smith); nephews, Nicholas (Renee), Peter, Oliver, Sam and Will Smith of Raleigh, N.C. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roman Choma; parents, Florence and Walter Conlon; and nephew, Gregory Smith.

Alice found immeasurable joy in her backyard, her dogs, and her home filled with signs and sayings that created warmth and intimacy. Most important to Alice were her friends and the community she created. She loved to dance and brought joy to all events with her Irish smiling eyes and red hair! Alice cared for hundreds of patients as a home healthcare RN and ran a successful Airbnb in her home. Her grace, integrity and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 3, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 16 N. 16th St., Wilmington, followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.

In lieu of flowers, make donations to Lower Cape Fear Hospice or Lump to Laughter.
