WILMINGTON — Marsden Bellamy Venters, 54, died unexpectedly Monday, Dec. 25, 2017, at his home after an accidental fall.
He was born May 19, 1963, in Wilmington, N.C., the son of Jane Bellamy Venters and the late Wayne Victor Venters II.
During his early years in Wilmington and at Wrightsville Beach, Marsden celebrated the glory of life by fishing, swimming, boating and collecting seashells and golf balls. He was an ardent recycler.
Marsden was an acolyte at St. James Episcopal Parish and honored to be named an Easter crucifer. He retained his love of the church throughout his life.
In addition to his mother, Marsden is survived by older brother, Wayne Victor Venters III, and his wife, Leigh Wilson Venters, and their son, Victor Ian Venters; as well as by his younger brother, John Snyder Venters, all of Wilmington. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle Nickye and George Venters of Raleigh, N.C., and their children and grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018, in Oakdale Cemetery with the Rev. Ronald G. Abrams officiating. A reception for family, friends and all those who loved Marsden will be held immediately after the service in the Great Hall at St. James Parish, 25 S. 3rd St., Wilmington.
