
WRIGHTSBORO — Robert Linwood “Bobby” Justice, 86, passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 2017. He was born July 2, 1931, in New Hanover, N.C., to the late Leander and Louise Justice.
Robert served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy. He worked at B&W for 27 years. He loved being out in nature, camping, fishing and hunting. One of Bobby’s favorite things was camping with his “Doll Baby,” Martha Rooks; and granddaughter, Brittany Justice, who accompanied him on many trips. They made several trips to the mountains, where they made lifelong memories.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley West Justice; brothers, Daniel, Allan and Charlie Justice; and sisters, Gloria Mosher and Dorothy Eward.
He is survived by brother, Joe Justice of Burgaw, N.C.; sister, Barbara Corbett; son, Robert Linwood “Robby” Justice Jr. (Beth) of Wilmington, N.C.; granddaughter, and light of Bobby’s life, Brittany Elise Justice of Wilmington, N.C.; 27-year love, “Doll Baby” Martha Rooks; and many other members of the Rooks family who were a great blessing and joy in his life. They will miss their “Papa Bobby.”
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Robert’s name to Hope Abounds, 1642 S. 41st St., Wilmington, NC 28403.
A celebration of Robert’s life will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 28, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Chapel, Wilmington. A visitation will be held at 5 p.m. prior to services with the Rev. Herchenhahn officiating.
