HAMPSTEAD — Pamela Lynne Sproule Dykhuizen, 63, passed away Saturday, Nov. 11, 2017, in Wilmington, N.C., with her family and her new puppy at her side.
Born July 9, 1954, in Corning, N.Y., she is a daughter of Robert Henry Sproule and Beverly Jean Prutsman Sproule. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Laurie Carey.
Pamela grew up in Corning, graduating from East Corning High School, where she made many lifelong friends. She worked for Corning Inc. for a time and was also employed at Micro-tech Design as an executive assistant. In 1992, she married Dale Alan Dykhuizen and moved to Surf City, N.C. She made lots more friends along the way.
In her leisure, she enjoyed weekends at the marina with friends and card-making. She was an awesome cook who had an incredible sense of humor. Her family will cherish her memory as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, Dale Alan Dykhuizen; son, Christopher Allen Velie, and his wife, Tiffany; daughter, Lindsey Jean Zackman, and her husband, Matthew; daughter, Brandy Lynn Dykhuizen, and her husband, Konstantin Bobkov; grandchildren, Dillon Blackwell, Brooke Blackwell, Samantha Velie, Abigail Zackman, Delaney Zackman and Freya Bobkov; brother, Robert Sproule Jr.; and sister, Sylvia Sproule-Bierwiler.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 16, at Andrews Hampstead Chapel. Inurnment will follow in Sea Lawn Memorial Park.
