OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Kathleen Ann “Kathy” Melleky, 80, passed away peacefully Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, after her battle with cancer.
Kathy was born March 10, 1937, in Hoboken, N.J., to the late Frank and Antoinette “Anita” Forsythe. After raising a family in Linden, N.J., she and her husband, Robert, retired to Ocean Isle Beach.
She was a member of the Brick Landing Women’s Club and the Brick Landing Ladies “Nine is Fine” golf group. Kathy was also active in the yearly golf fundraiser, “Rally for a Cure” to benefit Breast Cancer research.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 59 years, Robert; son, John Melleky of Bonita Springs, Fla.; and daughter, Maureen Melleky of Killingworth, Conn.
A celebration of life will be held from 4 to 6 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 20, at the Brick Landing Clubhouse.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kathy’s name to Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1414 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
