LELAND — Alma Soobrian Gore, 76, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017, at Wilmington Health and Rehabilitation, Wilmington, N.C.
Alma was born Sept. 27, 1940, in Cotton Tree, Berbice, British Guyana, the daughter of the late Alexander and Katie Phulmati Bisnaught Soobrian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Gore; sister, Enid Soobrian; brothers, Kenneth and Emanuel Soobrian; and sister-in-law, Radhika Soobrian.
She is survived by her son, Edward Conner Gore, and his wife, Bonnie, of Rocky Point, N.C.; brothers, Joseph, and his wife, Sumwattie Soobrian, of Canada, Rupert, and his wife, Sahodra Soobrian, Randolph, and his wife, Kaloutie Soobrian, and Aron Soobrian, all of New York; sisters-in-law, Eunice and Eshwardai Soobrian of New York; grandchildren, Christina and C.J. Gore; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and adored friends.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 4 p.m., Friday, Sept. 15, at Andrews Mortuary on Market St., Wilmington. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, at Northwood Cemetery, Southport. Viewing will be held at graveside from 10:30 to 11 a.m.
