
WILMINGTON — Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Moore, 62, died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. She was born Sept. 8, 1955, in Virginia Beach, Va., to the late James and Ann Johnson.
Libby retired from New Hanover County Human Resources after 17 years of employment. She enjoyed traveling, road trips, Panthers football and Tarheels basketball. She was a strong woman with a love for her family, for life and adventure. She always had a smile on her face and honesty in her heart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Larry R. Moore; and sister, Rita Lewis.
Survivors include her daughters, Stephanie Dalton, and her husband, Benjamin, and Nicole Buckindail, and her husband, Steve; grandchildren, Maddox, Marlo, Brodie and Berkley; sister, Susan Turner; fur babies, Buddy and Meredith Grey; companion, Jim Fitzpatrick; and many other family members and special friends.
The family will receive visitors from 6 to 8 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, at Andrews Valley Chapel, 4108 South College Road. A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17, at The Harp Irish Pub, 1423 South 3rd St., Wilmington.
