Carol Sue Wallbrown, 73, opened her heart and home to many foster children

BOILING SPRING LAKES — Carol Sue Wallbrown, 73, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at SECU Hospice of Brunswick.

Mrs. Wallbrown was born May 25, 1944, in Morgantown, W.Va., daughter of the late Charles and Jessie Faulknier Wilson. She moved to Southport in 1996 and continued her passion of caring for many foster kids in this area. Carol and her husband Mark became licensed providers for disabled children and adults. She was preceded in death by five brothers, one sister and one son.

Survivors include her husband, Mark Wallbrown of Boiling Spring Lakes; children, Tim of Boiling Spring Lakes, Ron of Oak Island, Kenny of West Virginia, Donna of Southport, Beth of Maine and Matthew of Boiling Spring Lakes; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 11, at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service in Southport. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to SECU Hospice of Bolivia, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia.
