OCEAN ISLE BEACH — Eva Louise Hilburn Fulwood, 68, passed away Monday, May 8, 2017, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice Care Center, Wilmington, after a lengthy illness.
Born in Ocean Drive, S.C., Oct. 11, 1948, she was a daughter of the late Elbert Leon Hilburn and Pauline Floyd Hilburn Hewett of Ocean Isle Beach. Louise retired from the U.S. Postal Service after 30 years of service. She will be remembered for her love and devotion to her family, career and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Leonard Hewett.
Surviving in addition to her mother are her loving husband, Jerry Fulwood of the home; two sons, Thomas Fulwood, and his wife, Vickie, and Phillip Fulwood, and his wife, Janice, all of Ocean Isle Beach; three sisters, Doris Hewett, and her husband, Marshall, Paula Hayden, and her husband, Cliff, and Tammy Fulford; brother, Eddie Hilburn, and his wife, Nancy; seven grandchildren, Christian, Emily, Alicia, Michael and Amber Fulwood and Meghan and Bryan Baringer; two great-grandchildren, Kadance and Bradyn Baringer; and 11 nieces and nephews.
You are invited to a visitation with the family from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 10, at White Funeral Service Chapel, Shallotte. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Thursday, May 11, at St. Brendan Catholic Church, where she was a longtime member. Burial will follow in the Mintz Cemetery.
Flowers are accepted and those wishing to offer donations in lieu of flowers may do so at the American Heart Association.
