CALABASH — Doreen Mahany Pragel, 84, resident of Calabash, passed away on Nov. 3, 2016.
Mrs. Pragel was born on Dec. 5, 1931, in Caribou, Maine, to Ellery and Vivian Mahany. She was active at St. Brendan’s Catholic Church and also with the North Carolina Shell Club. Mrs. Pragel was a retired RN.
Mrs. Pragel is predeceased by her husband, Vincent Francis Pragel.
Surviving are two sons, Michael (Patricia) Pragel, Dennis (Stephanie) Pragel; daughters Caron (Scott) Paton, and Mary Ann (Walt) Sellers; grandchildren Daniel Pragel, Matthew (Heather) Pragel, Diana (Joshua) Kelkenberg, Kim (Michael) Stittsworth, Meghan (Gabe) Tubbs, Caitlin Brown, Julie (Jon) Hollander, Nick Brown, Alexa Paton, Curtis Paton, Evan Paton, and Samuel Sellers; and five great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St Brendan’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2016, at 10 a.m. There will also be a private family graveside service celebrated at a later date at Bath National Cemetery in Bath, NY.
