WILMINGTON — Neri Anne Hillmon Post, 82, of Wilmington, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, 2016 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 28, 1934, in Baker City, Oregon, to the late James Austin Hillmon and Anna Neri Neault Hillmon Hubler.
Neri Anne is also preceded in death by two children, James Thomas and Timothy Thomas and siblings James Austin Hillmon and Marilou Love.
Neri Anne is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Robert Willard Post; her brother Gary Hubler (Coleen); children Mary Anne (Pat), Paul (Julie), John, Claudia (Dean), Donna, JoAnn (Jim), Janet, Laura, Ruth (Tom) and Katie; 20 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren – and many friends.
Neri Anne delighted in observing the beauty of God’s creation— from spotting an unexpected wildflower to watching a family of ducks waddle in line across the street near the neighborhood lake. She loved being a part of the lives of family and friends she often called “her darlings” and giving long, lingering hugs. She was a devoted mother, wife and friend. Neri Anne loved to host beautiful meals; she was an accomplished cook and an easy friend. She was special and will be greatly missed.
On Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, there will be a public visitation from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. and a service will be held at 2 p.m. at Andrews Mortuary, Valley Chapel, 4108 S. College Road, Wilmington, N.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Organization to fight breast cancer.
