SHALLOTTE POINT – John Leo Todd, 86, of Shallotte Point, died Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick.

Mr. Todd was born in Shallotte Point on June 25, 1930, and was the son of the late James Hilton Todd and Ervie Tripp Todd.

He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served in the Korean War. He was a retired commercial fisherman. The Shallotte River was a place that he loved dearly.

He is survived by his wife, Wynette S. Todd; seven children, Johnny Todd of Winnabow, Jimmy Todd of Shallotte, Teresa Phelps of Supply, Greg Langdon of Fuquay Varina, Joanne Hood of White Oak, Cindy Wittich of Jacksonville and Tammy McKnight of Shallotte; a brother, Levin Todd of Wilmington; 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Todd’s request was that no services be held. The family asks to please remember them in your thoughts and prayers in the days ahead.
