Lawrence F. Banks, 81, of Leland, passed away suddenly on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at his home. He was the beloved husband of Faye Cooke Banks. He was born in Jones County to the late Emmett and Melissa Smith Banks and had been employed in construction until his retirement.
Mr. Banks was preceded in death by a sister, Arlene Thigpen; and brothers, Stacey and William Banks.
In addition to his wife, Faye, he is survived by his daughters, Becky Stroud, and her husband, David, of Comfort, Renee Standaert, and her husband, Kenny, of Leland; son, Emmett Banks, and his wife, Tara, of Leland; sister, Margie Garriss of Comfort; brothers, Allen Banks and John Banks, both of Comfort; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
A celebration of life will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at the family home.
