Brunson Neal Rivenbark, 77, of Hampstead, passed away Friday, May 6, 2016, at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 29, 1938.
Mr. Rivenbark honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy. He enjoyed spending time watching westerns on television when he was at home; such as Gunsmoke and Bonanza. Brunson enjoyed collecting and was an avid collector of coins and baseball cards as well as other items.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Evelyn Marie Rivenbark; son, Gary Truett; and one brother, Rodney.
He leaves to cherish his memory his son, Larry Truett; daughters, Dee Hailey, Phyllis Saunders and Diana Dreggers; 13 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Eugene; sisters, Sandra and Judy; and numerous other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 8, at Quinn McGowen Funeral Home, Wilmington Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Prospect Cemetery.
