Thomas Edison Dann, of Wilmington and Parsons, Kansas, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 1, 2016.
He was both in Orlando, Florida on Dec. 14, 1929, son of the late Thomas Causey and Eva Drew Dann.
Mr. Dann attended Wilmington College before it became UNC-Wilmington and played on the school’s first basketball team. An engineer by trade, he worked for AVCO at Cape Canaveral, Florida on missile preparation in his early years, finishing his career at an ammunition plant in Parsons, Kansas. An avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing and golf, but his favorite pastime was simply sharing stories.
Mr. Dann was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Dann and son, Michael Dann. Surviving are his sister, Libby George of Wilmington, an additional family in both North Carolina and Kansas, which he considered his most prized gifts.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 6 in Coffeyville, Kansas.
