Jack H. Matthis, 88, of Riegelwood, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, surrounded by his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Matthis.
Jack is survived by his son, Tommy Lee Matthis; two daughters, Patricia “Pam” Ann Starnes and Deana Matthis Floyd; one sister, Helen Hoffman of Dallas, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Jason R. Starnes and Kayla L. Floyd; and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Austin Hilton.
Jack retired from Federal Paper after more than 30 years of service. He was a founding member of the Riegelwood Volunteer Fire Department and volunteered with Riegelwood EMS. He was a member of the VFW and the Lions Club.
Interment services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 8 at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
