Robert (Bob) William Holland, Jr. of Wilmington died on Sunday, Jan. 10, 2016 after a short illness.
Bob was born on Sept. 1, 1931 in Commerce, Missouri.
Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He spent his career in sales, building his own business and is known throughout the industry as “The Rag Man.”
Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Elizabeth S. Holland; two sons, Mark Holland and wife Cathy of Wilmington and Rob Holland and wife Anna of Cary; three grandchildren, Jason Holland and wife Kristy of Timberlake, Wesley Holland and fiancé Jennifer Laws and Elizabeth Holland; three great-grandsons, Landen, Hayden and Austin; a brother, Barry (Ellie); sisters, Sherry (Luke) and June (Sammy); brother-in-law, Don; sister- in-law, Marcy (Jerry); several nieces and nephews; and also many old and dear friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13 at Coble Ward-Smith Funeral Service, 3915 Oleander Drive, Wilmington, NC 28403.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 14 at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive, Wilmington, NC 28409.
