Franklin Hezekiah Thomas, Jr., loved his Lord, his family and his favorite sports teams

Franklin Hezekiah Thomas, Jr. passed away Dec. 8, 2015, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

Frank was born in Wilmington in July 28, 1929 at James Walker Memorial Hospital, son of Franklin Hezekiah Thomas, Sr. and Anita Riley Thomas.

He is survived by his two sons, Jeffrey Brian Thomas and Francesca Scott Thomas, and Franklin Alan Thomas and Tiffany Cox Thomas; four daughters, Rose Clark, Christine Yarbough, Stephanie DiBartolomeo and Francis Yarbough; five grandchildren, Carissa Thomas Long and Timothy Steven Long, Jeremiah and Seth Thomas and Dominic and McKinnley Clark.

He was a salesman for Sears for over 40 years. He was a faithful and dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church for 76 years. Above everything else, he wanted to make sure everyone he came in contact with knew who his Lord and savior was; close second was his family and then his passion for his favorite teams–Duke, Boston Red Sox and Dallas Cowboys.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 13 at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28401. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 14 at Trinity United Methodist, 1403 Market St., Wilmington, NC 28401, with burial at Oakdale Cemetery immediately following.
