Leonard David Chinn, 77, of Porters Neck in Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015 at his home.
Lynn was a proud U.S. Navy veteran and had a successful career at General Electric in Castle Hayne, where he was a professional tool and die maker, retiring with over 25 years of service. He was a member of Glad Tidings Church in Wilmington. Lynn enjoyed dealing with used cars and loved being on the water and fishing.
Lynn is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joyce Mills Chinn; one son, David Chinn; four grandchildren, Timothy Wayne Chinn, Jr., Daniel Chinn, Rachel Chinn and Sarah Chinn; sisters, Mary Lou, JoAnn, Charlotte, Patsy and Linda; brother, Ronnie; and a large extended family, including sisters- and brothers-in-laws and many nieces and nephews. Remembered are his son, Timothy Wayne Chinn, who passed away in October 2012; infant son, Harry Lynn Chinn; his sisters, Mae and Doris; and brothers, Frankie, Harry, Albert and Raymond.
The family will see friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 12 at Wilmington Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
