Robert Alfred Schenck, 73, active member of Seaside United Methodist

Robert “Bob” Alfred Schenck, 73, of Sunset Beach and formerly of Clinton, Connecticut and Glen, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015.

Bob was born in New Haven, Connecticut on Nov. 17, 1942 and was the son of the late Alfred Carl and Helen Coyle Schenck. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Helen Schenck.

Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of more than 50 years, Marilyn Foley Schenck; a daughter, Tracey Lynn Freeman and husband Darryl, of Hammond, Louisiana; a son, Brian Robert Schenck Sr. and wife Oriana, of Westbrook, Connecticut; grandchildren, Justin and Chad Bryson, of Springfield, Louisiana, Brian Schenck, Jr. and fiancée Melissa, of Hebron, Connecticut, Samuel, Matthew and Allyson Schenck of Westbrook, Connecticut; and step-grandchildren, Adam, Kevin and Will Freeman, of Louisiana, and Nicholas Clark, of Connecticut.

Also surviving are his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, James and Janice Foley; nieces, Kelly Dailey and husband Steven, Tara Pellerin and husband Bobby, all of South Carolina; as well as numerous friends and extended family that were very dear to him.

Bob retired from Unilever, formerly Chesebrough-Ponds, after 30 years of dedicated service. He also was a volunteer firefighter and EMT-IV in the Clinton, Connecticut fire department for more than 15 years and more recently was an active member of Seaside United Methodist Church and the Calabash Elks Club.

A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24 at Seaside United Methodist Church, followed by a gathering of friends and family in the Sandpiper Bay Amenities Center, 710 Sandpiper Bay Drive S.W., Sunset Beach, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in his name to Seaside United Methodist Church at 1300 Seaside Road, SW, Sunset Beach, NC 28468.
