Peggy Herring Register Viar, 80, of Wilmington, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015 at her home in the warm embrace of her family.
Peggy was born April 13, 1935 in Harrells, the daughter of Stacy Herring and Lula Jane Carter Herring.
She is survived by her children Kenneth Register, Jeffrey Register and Sheryl Andrews, all of Wilmington; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren; her sister Jane Cartrette of Chadburn; and brother Amos Jackson Herring of Texas.
Together with her parents she was preceded in death by her husbands, Benny Register and John Viar.
The family will receive friends at a visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 21 at Wilmington Funeral and Cremation, 1535 S. 41st St. in Wilmington. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, at Oleander Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of Lower Cape Fear Hospice for the compassionate care they provided.
