Shelby Jean Schwanke, 69, of Calabash, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.
Born in Lumberton on April 23, 1946, she was a daughter of the late Posey and Myrtle Brown Cundiff. She was preceded in death by a brother, Lester Cundiff. Mrs. Shelby was a member of Beulah Baptist Church.
Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, Wayne E. Schwanke, Sr.; three sons, David Schwanke and wife Shelly and Wayne Schwanke, Jr. and wife Kitsa, all of Forest Hill, Maryland, and Bill Schwanke and wife Michelle of Virginia Beach, Virginia; sister, Carol Coley of Pasadena, Maryland; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the Chapel of Brunswick Funeral Service in Shallotte by the Rev. Richard Hicks. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton. The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at the funeral home.
