Dallas ‘Bunk’ Shotwell, 82, U.S. Army veteran

Dallas J. “Bunk” Shotwell, Jr., 82, of Sunset Beach and formerly of Fayetteville, died Saturday, Sept. 12, 2015.

Born in Fayetteville on Jan. 15, 1933, he was a son of the late Dallas J. Shotwell, Sr., and Mary Ross Shotwell. He was preceded in death by a brother, Ivan Shotwell.

Mr. Shotwell was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during the Korean War. He last worked for VEMCO Music in Fayetteville.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Nancy Shotwell; two sons, Dallas J. Shotwell, III and wife Jenny of Lumberton and Henry Shotwell and wife Debra of Hope Mills; brothers Jody Shotwell and wife Pamela, Charles (Buddy) and wife Janie all of Hope Mills; and granddaughters Kayla and Sheridan Shotwell.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 18, in the Brunswick Funeral Service Chapel in Shallotte. Burial will follow in Brunswick Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
