James W. “Jimmy” Stokes died Oct. 13, 2014, at Lower Cape Fear Hospice. He was 58.
He was born in Wilmington on May 27, 1956, the son of Vernon G. Stokes and the late Sylvia Barber.
Along with his father, Jimmy is survived by his son, James Alan; daughter, Mandy; granddaughter, Hayleigh Summerlin; a brother, Wayne Stokes; sister, Dianne Stokes Larson; his first wife, Debbie Bass, mother of his children; his second wife, Monica Stokes; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 16, 2014, at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Lower Cape Fear Hospice Foundation, 1406 Physicians Drive, Wilmington, NC 28401.
