Patricia Ann Johnson, 80, served in the kitchen and youth ministry at Beach Road Baptist Church

Patricia Ann Johnson, of Charlotte and formerly of Leland, died Monday, June 2, 2014, at the age of 80.

On Dec. 22, 1951, Mrs. Johnson married James Blaine Johnson and in 1973 moved to Wilmington with their three children. In Wilmington, she worked for E.I. Dupont, the health department, and became an active member of Beach Road Baptist Church where she served in the kitchen ministry and youth ministry.

She was born in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late William Burruss and Emma Elaine Holloway.

She is survived by her husband, James Blaine Johnson, of Charlotte; children, Pamela Sue Johnson, of Lebanon, Tenn., Cynthia Lee Nurnberger (Bill), of Hixson, Tenn. and Douglas Blaine Johnson (Meg), of Charlotte; grandchildren, Will and Jenilee Nurnberger and Alecia, Lainey and Blaine Johnson; siblings, Sandra Tamberrino and Burruss Holloway; and nieces and nephews, Nick and Chris Tamberrino and Jason and Erin Holloway.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate the life of Mrs. Johnson at visitation from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 7, 2014, at Andrews Mortuary, 1617 Market Street Wilmington, NC 28401, followed by a funeral service beginning at 2 p.m. Graveside service will follow at 3 p.m. at Oleander Memorial Gardens, 306 Bradley Drive Wilmington, NC 28409.

The family would like to thank White Oak Manor of Charlotte for their loving care and compassionate support over the last three years.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to Beach Road Baptist Church, 4457 Flagship Ave. Southport, NC 28461.
