NEW HANOVER COUNTY — A gas leak in the 5000 block of U.S. Highway 421 North has closed a portion of the road in both directions.
New Hanover County Fire Rescue is working with Piedmont Gas and North Carolina Department of Transportation for detour of traffic. This is limiting access to the landfill and other businesses in the area.
There is no information at this time on how long this will impact the area.
