WILMINGTON — The YWCA Lower Cape Fear Aquatics Center located at 2815 S. College Road has suspended all operations for approximately two weeks following mechanical issues with a pool pump.
The facility officially closed at the end of the day Saturday, April 4. Repairs are expected to take 14 days, with a tentative reopening date set for Monday, April 20. YMCA officials noted the center could reopen sooner if maintenance is completed ahead of schedule.

To maximize the downtime, the YWCA is moving up its seasonal transition, including the removal of the pool “bubble” cover, which is now scheduled for Saturday, April 11.
All aquatics programming is suspended during the closure. The YWCA confirmed scheduled birthday parties and private rentals will be refunded.
If the closure extends past the April 20 target date, the organization will provide further information regarding member account adjustments and additional refunds. Updates will be shared by the YMCA – Lower Cape Fear as they become available.
